Full job description
Hamilton Enterprises, LLC, a CPA, Management, and IT consulting firm, is seeking qualified and available Financial Analyst to support a Federal client in Washington, DC. The position is full-time and contract.
Job Description:
- Provide technical advice for creating and supporting general journal entries that appropriately record internal use software, equipment, leases, prepaid expense, and leasehold improvements. The entries would include all reclassifications and necessary accruals per quarter-end.
- Submit periodic deliverables that provide posting instructions in accordance with TIER reporting requirements to be submitted to client no later than the 15 before the close of the quarter to allow for review and submission to the shared-service provider for posting. Assist in the performance of the monthly reconciliations to include all activity within the property remediation effort.
- Review financial transactions and processes for improvements to the reconciliation process for efficiencies and effectiveness. Prepare and review monthly journal entries, actively engage with mission program managers to ensure proper reflection of property to include additions, deletions, and impairments, financial personnel, and property custodians, officers, and management.
- Assist with automating financial reporting related activity effecting General Ledger Balances. Use automation to create, maintain and perform quarterly maintenance of subledgers of property related asset accounts. Evaluate procurement and invoice totals for possible asset reclassification values. Include with automation, any desk guide documentation to perform all tasks.
- Assist with analyzing new regulatory requirements, and design and execute an implementation strategy to assure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all Financial Statement Regulations
- Assist with evaluating the accuracy and completeness of system reports, data outputs, and other documents used to inform a control activity, a decision point, or a report.
- Assist with briefing assessment conclusions to the responsible process owners and client’s management.

Mandatory qualifications:
- Currently hold, or able to obtain and maintain, DHS fitness determination
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or applicable related field or Certified Public Accountant. An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree/certification.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) preferred but required
Required experience and expertise:
- Minimum of three (3) to eight (8) years of experience in providing expertise regarding DHS Chief Financial Officers’ (CFO) Act; Federal Managers’ Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA) and its implementing guidelines, OMB Circular A-123, Management’s Responsibility for Internal Control; the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA); the DHS Financial Accountability Act (DHS FAA); and other statutes governing internal controls
